Divine Comedy Dublin: Neil Hannon Returns with New Album and Tour

Get ready. Divine Comedy Dublin is set to be a highlight of 2026. Neil Hannon returns with a brand-new album and a long-awaited live show at the National Concert Hall on 28 March 2026.

A lot has changed since the last album

Neil Hannon has been busy. In 2020, he remastered and re-released the entire Divine Comedy back catalogue. Then, in 2022, he dropped Charmed Life, a best-of collection that sparked a brilliant UK and European tour, reminding fans of Divine Comedy’s Dublin roots.

More recently, he wrote all the original songs for the global hit film Wonka. That mix of whimsy and wit? Classic Hannon.

Now comes Rainy Sunday Afternoon

The new album lands this September. Hannon wrote, arranged, and produced it at Abbey Road Studios. It’s deeply personal, full of orchestral charm and emotional honesty. Divine Comedy gains a new depth in this album.

Lead single Achilles already sets the tone. Its Raphaël Neal-directed video offers a visual treat and hints at what’s to come.

According to Hannon, the album tackles mortality, memories, and modern life. “Everyone should get to make an orchestral pop album once in a while,” he says. “It should be available on the NHS.”

And honestly? He’s not wrong. It’s exactly the kind of music we all need right now.

Divine Comedy Dublin: Live at the National Concert Hall

This show will be special. Hannon’s live performances blend clever lyrics, rich arrangements, and theatrical flair. The Divine Comedy event in Dublin will bring these elements to life.
