Gibson-Park a doubt for Leinster v Munster as Bleyendaal gives wait-and-see update

Dublin fixture first

Leinster play Munster at Aviva Stadium on Saturday 24 October 2026, with kick-off at 18:00. That venue, date and kick-off time are confirmed on the Aviva Stadium listing for the BKT United Rugby Championship fixture.

Aviva Stadium states that tickets for events at the stadium are distributed by the event organiser, not by Aviva Stadium directly, and directs readers to Ticketmaster or the URC website for up-to-date ticket information. Readers should use those official routes, and check the listing before travelling.

The team news below is from RTÉ Sport’s report on Monday. RTÉ did not state the venue in the text fetched, which is why Love Dublin has checked the fixture separately above.

Gibson-Park: back running, not confirmed

Leinster and Ireland scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park remains a doubt for Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Munster as he continues recovery from a groin injury, RTÉ Sport reported.

The 34-year-old has not featured in any of Leinster’s first four games of the season, including their Champions Cup opener at the weekend, according to RTÉ.

Assistant coach Tyler Bleyendaal said Gibson-Park is back in light training, but that it remains a wait-and-see situation. He said Gibson-Park was back involved on Monday and had done a little bit last week as well, and that he is really just seeing how he feels at the end of the week before a decision is made.

Bleyendaal said Gibson-Park was out running on Monday, which he described as a positive sign, but that the injury has to be assessed closer to the time.

Love Dublin is not firming that up into a selection prediction. On Monday’s evidence, as reported by RTÉ, he is a doubt.

Who is out, and who may return

RTÉ reported that Leinster are already without captain Caelan Doris, RG Snyman, Jack Boyle and Paddy McCarthy.

Jack Conan is ruled out of the first interprovincial derby of the season after picking up a shoulder injury in the win over Clermont, according to RTÉ. RTÉ describes Conan as a Lions number eight.

Jordan Larmour could be available again. RTÉ reported that Larmour is yet to feature this season and is returning from a calf problem that kept him out of the opening block of games.

Bleyendaal said Larmour is a massive threat on the attacking side of the ball and that Leinster are grateful to get him back on the pitch. He said Larmour has had a tough run and that Leinster look to integrate him and hopefully get him available as soon as possible.

The Munster challenge as Bleyendaal described it

RTÉ reported that Leinster and Munster meet this coming Saturday in the second interprovincial fixture of the season, and Leinster’s first. It comes just over a year on from Munster’s 31-14 win in Croke Park, RTÉ said.

Bleyendaal said he has been impressed with Munster’s early-season performances. He described them as abrasive and strong in the contact area, with a good mix of youth, and said they seem to be playing with a lot of confidence at the moment.

The assistant coach played 62 times for Munster, RTÉ reported.

All of this comes ahead of Andy Farrell naming his Ireland squad for November’s Nations Championship matches later this week, according to RTÉ.

For Dublin supporters going to the Aviva on Saturday, the confirmed facts are the 18:00 kick-off, Gibson-Park’s doubtful status going into the week, Conan’s absence as reported by RTÉ, and a team selection that, on Gibson-Park at least, will be assessed closer to the game.
