Lighthouse Family bring Ocean Drive celebration to Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre

Dublin is set for an evening of soulful vocals and familiar favourites when Lighthouse Family play the 3Olympia Theatre on Tuesday 2 March 2027.

Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker will visit the capital as part of a UK and Ireland tour celebrating Ocean Drive, the debut album that introduced their distinctive sound to millions of listeners. The show will also feature greatest hits from across the duo’s career.

Back to the album that started it all

Some albums become closely tied to the moments in which we first heard them. For many listeners, Ocean Drive is one of those records.

Released in 1995, it brought together the warmth of Baiyewu’s vocals and Tucker’s melodic songwriting on tracks including “Lifted”, “Goodbye Heartbreak” and “Ocean Drive”. Its mix of soul and pop found a huge audience, taking the album to six-times platinum status in the UK.

The forthcoming tour puts that breakthrough record back in the spotlight, giving Dublin fans an opportunity to reconnect with the songs in a live setting.

More than one chapter of hits

Lighthouse Family’s story continued with 1997’s Postcards from Heaven, another six-times platinum success in the UK. “High”, “Raincloud” and “Lost in Space” added to a songbook that has remained familiar long after its original chart run.

The Newcastle-formed duo went on to release Whatever Gets You Through the Day in 2001. Their 2019 comeback album, Blue Sky in Your Head, reached number three in the UK album chart following an 18-year gap between studio releases.

With more than 15 million albums sold worldwide, Lighthouse Family have built an audience around songs about love, perseverance and brighter days ahead.

Their March visit to the 3Olympia promises an evening with that catalogue, bringing the Ocean Drive favourites together with music from the years that followed.
