A latte to be excited about as new coffee shop opens in Dublin

Stand-alone Red Bean Roastery arrives at the stylish Clayton Hotel Charlemont

Coffee-obsessed Dubliners have a new option for grabbing the perfect cup from a company which puts sustainability and ethical farming practises at the heart of its operating model.

Today, Thursday 12th May, Red Bean Roastery celebrates the official launch of its new urban location in the capital on the grounds of the beautiful Clayton Hotel Charlemont which overlooks Dublin’s Grand Canal.

The stand-alone coffee shop will offer customers the choice of enjoying delicious refreshments and grabbing a cup on-the-go via the ‘hatch’, perfect for those on a busy schedule who either live or work in the surrounding area.

Last year the city was named as the second most coffee-obsessed capital on the planet after a survey by Brew Smartly. It found Dublin has 181 coffee shops for every 100,000 people, just behind Pago Pago in American Samoa.

Dublin’s coffee lovers now have a new local option with Red Bean Roastery on a mission to deliver fresh and fast coffee to valued customers every day. Located on the busy Charlemont Street, uniquely set beside Ireland’s famous Grand Canal among bustling corporate buildings, such as We Work & Dublin’s Amazon HQ, the coffee shop is within walking distance of the Luas, making it the ideal stop before work, gym class or a scenic walk.

Clayton Hotel Charlemont General Manager, Lisa O’Shea, who operates Red Bean Roastery, said this new offering is all about creating perfect coffee experiences with expert baristas dedicated to perfecting each cup they serve.

She said: “The quality of our coffees, along with speciality teas, snacks and treats, is only matched by the work we put into ensuring we operate in a sustainable and ethical way.

“With Green Tourism accolades already awarded, Red Bean Roastery promotes the use of reusable cups and aims to support customers in moving away from single use accessories.

“We also support ethical farming processes. Our suppliers work closely with farmers in every corner of the globe including Central and South America, Africa and Asia to produce the very best coffee beans – the Red Bean Roastery name references the ripe fruit of the jasmine scented flower of the coffee plant and when it is red, we know it has reached perfection.

“We then take those beans and create our signature handcrafted house blend in our local roastery but what truly elevates our coffee is the craft and care our baristas put into perfecting every cup.

“We have put time and thought into our coffee spaces. These are flexible and accommodating spaces that are designed to allow people to grab a quick cup on-the-go.”

To mark the opening of the Red Bean Roastery at the Clayton Hotel Charlemont, the team took to the streets and the capital’s Grand Canal to spread the news of latest arrival.

The Red Bean paddle boat went to the Grand Canal to let people know the new coffee shop was opening while the team were handing out coffee tokens and loyalty cards.

Dalata Hotel Group is committed to growing the bespoke Coffee brand for Dalata Hotels, with dedicated coffee shops now open in Leopardstown, South Mall Cork and Charlemont, with two soon to open in Dublin’s Digital Docklands.
