The Wombats Announce December Tour Dates – Including a Must-See Dublin & Belfast Show!

Liverpool indie-rock legends, The Wombats, are making waves again! After releasing their sixth studio album, Oh! The Ocean, via AWAL Recordings, they’ve now announced a string of UK & Ireland tour dates – and Dublin is on the list!

Their UK arena tour is already in full swing. The Wombats continue to prove why they are one of the most dynamic and beloved bands of their generation. Their latest album has received glowing reviews. DORK calls it “one of their best works,” while The Times notes, “You can see why The Wombats have taken off with Gen Z.” CLASH describes their sound as “coated in a new varnish,” leaving listeners feeling as rejuvenated as the band.

Dublin Gets Ready for The Wombats

Dublin fans can expect an unforgettable night when The Wombats hit the stage this December. They will perform in Dublin on 9th December as part of their UK & IE tour. After Edinburgh, Derby, Newcastle, Birmingham, and Bournemouth, they’ll finally reach Dublin.

Following Dublin, The Wombats head to Belfast’s SSE Arena on 10th December. This iconic venue, known for its great acoustics, will be the perfect setting for the band’s dynamic performance. After Dublin, Belfast is the place to be for an electrifying show!

The band has already played their biggest headline shows to date, including a massive gig at London’s O2 Arena. Their European leg is also underway, with stops in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and more.

A Fresh Perspective – Oh! The Ocean

Two years after their first UK #1 album, Fix Yourself, Not The World, The Wombats return with Oh! The Ocean. This album blends their infectious hooks with deeper emotional depth. They worked with producer John Congleton in LA’s Echo Park for six weeks, refining their sound into one of their strongest yet.

Murph describes the album as a moment of self-discovery. Inspired by a powerful experience at the beach, he explains:

“I’ve been to many beaches, but for some reason, this one felt like the first time I was truly present… I had been living a life caught up in my own head.”

The album explores themes of melancholy, euphoria, and the band’s signature wit. Tracks like Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come have already gained massive support, even landing on Radio 1’s playlist.

Stream Oh! The Ocean on Spotify and Apple Music.

A Career of Unstoppable Momentum

The Wombats have never slowed down since their 2007 debut A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation. Each album has built on their success. Their 2011 album This Modern Glitch made them Top Ten regulars. 2015’s Glitterbug found a second life with Gen Z thanks to TikTok. By 2018, they were headlining arenas, and 2022’s Fix Yourself, Not The World became their first Number One album, hitting over 2.5 billion streams globally.

Their packed-out Radio 1 tent at Reading 2024 showed their appeal to a younger crowd. Thousands of fans in their late teens and early twenties sang along to every word.

The Wombats are charging into this new chapter, and their upcoming shows in Dublin and Belfast will be highlights. Expect a thrilling mix of classic hits and fresh tracks. Dublin fans can enjoy the show on 9th December, while Belfast fans can catch them on 10th December at the SSE Arena.
