Tina Turner Dublin: The Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll Returns to the Stage – In Spirit

Dublin is ready to feel the rhythm as Tina Turner fans flock to the city.

Tonight, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical opens at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. This powerful stage show celebrates the life of a true icon. It runs for just three weeks, until Saturday 14 June 2025.

A Must-See for Tina Turner Dublin Fans

First, let’s talk music. The show features all the classics: The Best, What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Private Dancer, and River Deep, Mountain High. But it’s more than just a hit parade.

Co-produced by Tina herself, the musical tells her story — from humble beginnings to global fame. It’s bold, emotional, and packed with energy.

Sharing the lead role are Elle Ma-Kinga N’Zuzi and Jochebel Ohene MacCarthy. David King-Yombo joins them as Ike Turner. Every performance delivers raw power and vocal brilliance.

Behind the Scenes: The Story Driving Tina Turner Dublin Buzz

Next, the story itself. Tina’s life was full of challenges. She faced abuse, racism, and industry rejection. Yet she rose — stronger, louder, and brighter.

Producer Tali Pelman says:

“Tina Turner played to packed-out arenas across the UK and Ireland. Now, we’re proud to bring her incredible story to theatres here.”

The cast includes:

  • Martin Allanson as Phil Spector
  • William Beckerleg as Erwin Bach
  • Rushand Chambers as Richard Bullock
  • Claude East as Gran Georgeanna
  • Isaac Elder as Roger Davies
  • Georgia Gillam as Alline Bullock
  • Letitia Hector as Zelma Bullock
  • Kyle Richardson as Raymond Hill
  • Gemma Sutton as Rhonda Graam

Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Katori Hall wrote the script. Phyllida Lloyd, known for Mamma Mia!, directed it. Together, they’ve created something unforgettable.

Tina Turner Dublin Memories Live On

In March 2009, Tina gave her final Dublin performance at the then-O2 Arena. It was unforgettable.

Sadly, she passed away on 24 May 2023. But her voice, story, and energy still fill the stage. This musical honours that legacy. (Independent.ie recap)
